Frequently Asked Questions
In this section I will try my best to answer any FAQ – Frequently Asked Questions I receive by emails and over the telephone. Most questions are very similar in nature, however we are very aware that all questions have an individual slant to them, so if these basic responses don’t help please get in touch on the Contact page
I am trying to establish the best paint brush for applying your synthetics paint.
Providing the brush is a good quality item, I would suggest any soft bristled flat or slightly angled good quality item that does not shed its bristles. The key factor is soft bristles whether natural or synthetic, the make is down to you, I tend to favour Hamilton brushes, but there are so many on the market.
Can I roller Synthetic Coach Enamel.
Yes you can with no problem. My suggestion is to do a panel at a time; by doing this you don’t take on too much at once and you can stop after a panel and have a break. Using the roller, do around 4 roller widths and then, using a brush (maybe a 1.5″ or 2″) draw this down the rollered area very gently, you are only stroking the paint preferably in a vertical plane. This will take away any blemishes or air bubbles made by the roller, thus allowing the paint to evenly dry giving a good glossy finish. If possible don’t be tempted to go over it again as all the time you are working on the paint it is starting to dry. If you do take too long drawing the brush down you could end up with the brush dragging partially dried paint and cause streaks. These will need to be rubbed down again when fully dry and repainted.
What colour primer should I use.
Generally speaking you should use the nearest shade to the the colour you are going to use as the topcoat, ie if a light colour use light grey, if a dark colour use dark grey and if it is very pale to white, then use a white primer.
You have choice of 4 colours of primer, White, Light Grey Primer, Dark Grey Primer and RedOxide Primer.
